'Das Ende der wilden Jahre' / 'The wild years are over'

Editorial AI works accompanying an article by Mischa Täubner, about the impact of three decades of the internet, and the possible future effects on society and what the EU looks to do about it's influence.

"Over the past three decades, the internet has changed the world. But the initial euphoria has turned into concern about freedoms and democracy with the growing power of a few digital corporations. It is high time to limit their influence. The European Union is a pioneer on the path to a different, better network."

The story of life on earth - condensed and expanded - from 4.5 billion years ago to 4.5 billion years ahead. A concept album with audio/visual works.

The album was started using a visual scrapbook before any music was written. The 45 minute film accompanying the music is a constantly evolving artwork that adjusts to the latest scientifc discoveries and data, which reflects on the tipping points of civilisation and the eras that have defined us as a species.

In Thy Domain premiered in Prague, October 2019, alongside Alessandro Cortini for Dietl Archive x Polygon

The album will be released on Counterchange Records on Vinyl and digital in late 2022.

Arch 001 - Life on Small Planets

2020

“Following a trio of sold out events in Berlin, Arch make the transition from event promoter to record label with the announcement of their debut 10-track compilation ‘Life on Small Planets’.

Arch was born as a reaction to the pandemic, offering a series of socially distanced live concerts at Prince Charles, featuring an array of local producers who dropped their techno leanings, to instead focus on creating a haven for meditative music by exploring experimental, avant-garde, IDM, electro-acoustic and post-club ambience.

Stream State:

‘Stream State’ is Inland’s celebration of the DJ mix / compilation format. Enamoured with UK dance music culture in the mid 90s, the burning, illicit energy of early rave mixtapes left a huge impression. Mystical bootlegs recorded at mass gatherings in fields or late night Radio One transmissions captured on cassette – their eternal spirit was absorbed and cherished. Now more than 2 decades later, Davenport has channeled that fascination into this weighty collector’s item and a captivating continuous mix.

From veterans and heroes like DJ Skull, Efdemin, Joel Mull, Boddika, Peter Van Hoesen, and Mark Broom (alongside Discrete Circuit), to a new echelon of up-and-coming talent like Rhyw, Sophia Saze, Jamaica Suk, Johanna Knutsson, Aiken, DJ Sodeyama, Perm and Felix Fleer, there’s an underlying thread of shimmering production values and close attention to detail in every track. Inland also selected debuts from Berlin based artists Fred Mann and Arbitrage, and welcomes back BNJMN, P. Lopez and Distant Echoes to the label, now in its 7th year of operation.

Purchase from Bandcamp here. Listen on Spotify here.

Arcing Seas Fundraising Release for ‘Vurt’:

a3324237128_16

Vurt holds a very dear place in our hearts and the owners are like family, so when we heard how they were struggling due to the political situation threatening Seoul’s night-life, we wanted to find a way to help. They have received no financial or legislative assistance from the government - electronic music culture in South Korea needs our community’s support!

This is a collection of artists who have played at Vurt, and its extended family. We have gathered 28 tracks spanning the full spectrum of leftfield, underground techno and experimental electronics, from figureheads of the scene, to bright new talents, including many South Korean Producers.

100% of proceeds from this compilation will go to Vurt, Seoul.

Siren

Siren is a remotely-placed directional speaker system. More than just serenading the void, it endeavors to push the boundaries of field recording, and to charm the winds like the Sea Sirens of mythology.

Music and sound designs are often resampled and reworked using various techniques, be it via contact microphones, hydrophones or just an effects pedal. Siren is means of re-hearing sound in more ways than one.
